OMEGA 3 FAT
What is
Omega 3 fat?
Omega 3 is a dietary fat found in some of our foods;
omega 3 fat plays
a role in anti-inflammatory
processes and in the viscosity of cell membranes.
The three (3) omega 3 fatty acids known to man are:
· Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA): Found in plants such as flaxseed, walnut, soyabeans
oil etc.
· Eicosapenaenoic acid (EPA): Found primarily in fishes
· Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA): Found primarily in fishes
NB: EPA and DHA
are commonly known as marine omega 3’s because they are found in fishes. They are vital for proper growth and

ALA does not give the type of health benefit that EPA
